Discuss T&E Sub Main in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

Hi,

I will ask our operations manager when she comes back off holiday what they have actually said.

thanks
Acestu

You say in post #20 the advice is from a firm that does your testing. Any issues should be detailed in the last EICR they provided.

Hi guys,

I managed to get hold of the condition report and on the front page under:

E: Summary of the condition of the Installation,

good, however some fuse boards (DB's) require updating to include rcbo's to bring up to date with current regulations.

What do you think guys ?

Thanks
Acestu

that's a load of bollox. if the boards are safe for continued use, then there's no requirement to replace them in any regulation going.

Totally unnecessary work generation.

In other words they are rip off merchants, time you got a reputable company in. I hope they haven’t been paid for the EICR.

£900 to do 5 boards. I'd bite their hands off!

Why? £900 for unnecessary work when it isn't your money!

Hi, Richy, Tony,

The price maybe cheap but does the work really need doing when the boards have been fitted by qualified electricians to the current regs when fitted ?

Thanks
Acestu

On the basis of what's been said, it doesn't sound as though the work is required. I was merely commenting that the amount of work suggested for £900 was cheap IMHO.

No probs Richy, I think we can afford to wait till we get some money for the work to be done, after what everybody has said on here

Thanks all
