Taking on 9 flats

This is my first post and looking for some advice. I have been offered the job of wiring 9 new 2 bed flats just about to be built. I have not taken on anything this big before and not sure how many extra Electricians I will need to keep up with the builders. Anyone done this level of work? As I normally work on my own.

Depends, you and two others would be my best be especially during 1st fix, what with concrete pours etc.

Biggest piece of advise I can give is make sure everything is in writing and don't do any extras without agreement signed by your client before you do them.
Got caught out by a builder who came across as genuine and pally alway through job on 12 apartments and 2 penthouses then stung us for nearly 15k at the end. He got caught by developer then took all sub contractors for what he could.
Don't worry not all like it. Just be cautious. Our own fault for not having enough in writing.

Is it timber frame and how many lads as the builder on site.
Usually the speed of the job is dictated by how quick your being pushed by other trades

Done many flats , new builds and mill conversions over the years
THE flats them selves are easy to control price wise and timescale wise ( even give out a price )
It’s the landlord areas that can usually drag on , and could cost you money
Door entry , fire alarm , lighting , car park lighting , sky tv , B.T , sub mains rooms , lifts
As said in another thread depends how organised your builder is

Don't forget you will need LSF cable for public areas.
Plant room can take time if you've got all your mains supplied from a ryfield board and making sure it's neat when you've finished. Don't seeing messy plant rooms.
Planning your routes so you don't need rcd protection on your supply cable to the flats.

Many thanks for all your advice, I will make sure I get it all in writing and will spend a good amount of time on the paperwork. This job will include data and sky and under ground parking. Its not been firmed up yet but its in the region of £110K. When I know more I will come back, and thanks again.

Get everything in writing signed and checked.
It annoys the hell out of me when people get trades in and then try to screw them over.
also a job that size is a good chance to take an apprentice or part qualified /electricians mate on looking for experience. pay them a fair wage and you can get a extra pair of hands to help out when you aren't in need of fully qualified electricians to assist at certain points of the work.

These sort of jobs are bread and butter for us...They're not difficult. Organisation is key so you don't loose time pottering around trying to make up a days work etc. The distribution side of things will be a BNO installation so make sure this is priced spot on as the gear and labour can be lumpy. BT, TV, door entry, fire alarm etc are all easy to price.

I got told by a builder that 50k was too expensive for 6x 3bed houses in Surrey -with alarms, nests, downlights and in chrome. various bollard lights around the land and a sub main from front meter box to rear c/u
150k for 9flats- GRAB IT!

I'm having trouble quoting..if they are newbuilds they should be zero rated for vat.
