In my opinion, its not worth risking using it as a CPC, in case of any warranty issues, not to mention safety. I honestly couldnt tell anybody whether it is safe to use as a CPC, bit i do know that if it failed, i would have no grounds on which to say that it is suitable, ansd as such i would be liable.

In my opinion, it is safe to use as a CPC, but untill i read a manufacturers table, or statement to a british standard, then i wont be using it as CPC.

I think we're at cross purposes here.

using the braid as additional cpc,f this breaks own then you hace cpc in the core, its the first time iv used one of these glands and i dont like the idea that to earth the motor soley with the braid it has to be crushed together with locknuts

As you say John, I don't think it is designed to be used as a CPC, as they make no mention to it on the data sheets, only the conductors......... I'm sure if it was designed to be used as a CPC, the info would be on this sheet

The cable glands we call up for SY cable are the EMC IP68 type.

Bluetobits, you can get SY cables that all the core colours are black, depends on the manufacturer. We dont use them and we dont use the shield as CPC.
