Hi I have done a test on a lighting circuit and can't get my head round results.
Live--Live == 2.19 m ohms
Live-E ==== 99.9 m ohms
Also RCD tipping test at I ==400ms but does not trip
but at I5 trips at 14.7 ms
can anyone shed any light.

Thanks Col

Why can't you get your head round it?

When you say LIVE - LIVE are we on about 3ph here or has you have not indicated a N reading do you mean L - N and if so what is your N-E reading.

Please give all readings and be clear as 'm ohms' would be 'mili ohms' so please represent your reading as you are taught M-ohms I would assume.

Where at and how are you taking your RCD readings...ie at the RCD or at a lighting point.

Given the good advice above,why don't you make use of the training section

Thanks Pete at last a sensible reply

Unless we look into your profile we are unaware of your level, you have an option to have trainee clearly worded under you forum name, this would change how anyone approached your question, as above ask for trainee status from a Mod' and I believe this gives you a Trainee badge so we all are informed of your level if you post in this section.

I was going to --- rip you but as Glenn mentioned you are to blame due to your first post, we didn't give any sarcastic posts at all, and believe me we are famous for just that, I appreciate you have been a member for 6 months, but at 9 posts have not worked us out yet, I suggest you apply to join the trainee forum, and quickly as well lol.
