I think you got to be able to offer the customer more than just a cash option now , the industry is changing and you got to change with it I guess, most of you on here are anti green deal the only thing I can see wrong with the scheme is the interest rate is higher than expected. I think you got to offer more than one measure as well and offer a bundle or package under the green deal ie a new boiler , solar thermal & pv with eco funding to lower the cost and green deal cash back plus the fits etc ! who say no to that ???

rather bizarrely we took 4 inquires for 30-50kWp installs yesterday all via referrals.

I've now just got to work out how to get through our backlog of quotes in the next week while half our staff are off on holiday. I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that holidays need to be banned other than around Christmas and new year.

My ever growing backlog of quote requests seems to indicate that something else is going on here other than the industry dying.

There's interest out there but we're pretty close to the August increases now - I wonder how many will convert after that. We won't quote prices for anything we can't fit before 1st week in August - we can only work on matching supply with demand and then price indications in bands. Silly situation - I have to say I get less enthusiastic about solar by the day.

We have a GreenDealer locally who's doing very well, loads of customers. Uses energy from a PV system his landlord installed to run a hydro system in his loft, allegedly...

this could well rank as our most successful week of sales ever, with verbal confirmation of orders for over 150kWp of commercial installs on 4 sites, only problem being whether Northern Powergrid will turn the applications around in time for us to be able to install before end of sept - if there is going to be a FIT reduction then in the 10-50kWp band, which I can't quite work out.

So that's the end of september sorted, now I just need to fill up August... only managed a slightly depressing 6kWp in July after a busy June. Much happier now than at the start of the week.
