It will be a shorter list if we look for things done right...but I'll give it a shot.

Sheath not brought into fitting.
CPC joined to live conductors.
CPC not sleeved.
Black used as switched active without sleeve.
Flex not hooked over notches to take weight of lamp.
Extremely messy cables.
Looks like only two T+E coming in, so likely the last fitting on the circuit, otherwise I'd be listing discontinuous earth as well.

I'm desperately hoping this is a deliberate wind up and not the work of a 'tradesman'. I'm a first year apprentice, and if I put up a job like that my master would chase me down the main street putting the boot in each time he caught me.

I think you have caught them, well done.
The cpc is not continuous and so the light switch would not have a cpc run to it, though this is all part of the cpc to live conductors problem.
(For UK I would use "switched line" and not "switched active" just as a nomenclature for exams thing)

This was a DIY attempt, oddly the light did not work!
I would normally hope that no one not even a DIY approach would do this, but there are many people who will try the strangest things.

The Above picture is not a wind up, but an attempt by someone who should not be allowed anywhere near Electric's.
Keep doing what you do and don't slack on your standards.

I thought it was, proof that safe iso is absolutely imperative.
It wouldn't be a circus without at least one clown though :)

What is the first step in safe isolation though?

Identify the circuit XD, everyone makes mistakes and its why its a good idea for a lot of the trainee's here to read a lot of threads so they learn how to avoid issues like this.

That's why I put my hands up to it Shanky, to show that even someone with 34 years experience under his belt can still make a mistake through complacenecy.
You can't be too careful with this stuff.

True ive had 1 shock and blew holes in 1 pair of snips.

The shock was off an old light in an attic while I was rolling out insulation.

Put my hand on the light to move it and bang, I even had to borrow a driver off the painter because I had nothing with me lol.

A neon screwdriver non the less that was ancient and in perfect condition

So doesn't look like we are going to get any more entry's then!

Come on surprise us:yes:

Not just yet lads, giving others the time to put in their entries and there are other issues to address, another month at least.

This has snow balled into a "competition" from a bit of fun of a "challenge". Certain rules need to be followed and talks with the competition sponsor with regards to judging and their timescale to be able to do so. One more month gives us all the time that is needed to do a good job of this and not just rush things and get it wrong, after all we are or will be Electricians, we never take short cuts or rush a job because it is the easy route.
