A lot of our vans get broken in to at Premier Inns, it's a haven for thieves.

Is it not possible to install an IR beam on your drive with a buzzer in your house on a timer so that it would only work at night?

The though if someone being on your property tampering with your vehicle is disgusting.

We also had a spate where the vans catalytic converters were being cut off from under the van, unbelievable what they get up to.

yeah a possibility, looked at that, the drive is 20 foot long and 26 ft wide, the van, caravan and car are on the drive, there is only about 4 foot from the front of the caravan to the pavement and there is no gates as the drive is open, it would be difficult to not get false alarms due to several reasons, one being sometimes people walking on the pavement stop and light a smoke outside the house or stop for a gossip and they can stand on the edge of the drive, due to the distance between the vans and the pavement it is just not doable really, however it is possible I suppose, if the alarm was set from say 2 till 4 maybe it could be something to consider.

Next time you see some Twunt nicking fuel, sling one of these at them, let them and the van burn.
Get a new one on the insurance.

they know that companies put up staff in cheap digs that's why....they know where to look.

set up a pond around where you park and stick an electric eel or a few dozen pirhanas in it.....they don't come under the dangerous animals regs do they??

saw a documentary one of them fried 2 horses and 2 dudinos in mexico....

They must also know that every single Premier Inn has CCTV that is totally and utterly useless. The images it takes are just terrible, we have even had a van broken in to and then to find that the camera it was parked under hasn't worked for a couple of years...

Great!

Police aren't interested anyway, its just one of those things I suppose. I don't have an alarm on my van I just have a ÂŁ7 battery one screwed to the side wall in the back. My god its loud!

keep a scrapper full of diesel on the drive and get some of that car stop goo from the USA on ebay...put it in the tank for them to siphon....it chokes up the fuel nozzles....its classed as a novelty joke in the USA but not on sale here that I know of......if they take your fuel, they have not got anything they can do about it...

OK ....what about a PIR with a high flow sprinkler setup that completely deluges the whole area over and around your van if it gets disturbed after dark and is not turned off....a complete torrential dump of cold water over everything.....

Haha...that idea's got possiblities...
My mate is brewing his own vodka and he's throwing away the methanol content.
Save all that and spray the scum and sling a lighted match at them, Guy Fawkes...

on a sidenote, I was looking out the window at my mums house 2 weeks ago and saw a wild cat (3x the size of regular mog) pushing at the double garage door across the road, it was standing up against the right hand side pushing above the hinge, then going to the left hand side, then back to the right, then back again to the left... was doing it for about 5 minutes before somebody came along and it ran off.....quite clever trying to swing the door up so it could get under....
I was asking around and was told it is probably full of kittens (even at this time of year) and wanting to get into the warm/dry to pop them out.....
those can be some bad --- cats if you get in the way......would be funny to see it defending its kittens if somebody went into a shed/garage to steal tools/fuel/a van...it would be wrapped around whoever went in and would probably pull their face off....

grant, in that situation i think the owner of the shed would ask get their face pulled off let alone anyone trying to steal anything. That, would be, a nightmare!
