I'm sure you will have no problems with one!
I spent a couple of hours in a main plant room at a large company I do work for familiarizing myself with mine when I first got it.
This was a great place to test it as there were boilers pipes and electrical equipment to point it at and get use to the range and scope of colour changes.
They do attract the wow factor by customers if they see you using one, I had a whole load of management buzzing round me on one commercial job, they had never seen one before and all wanted to have a play with it!:)

You sound like me mate.

Lucky enough to have some understanding and patient clients who don't you using them as a test-bed.
I do work for fire sprinkler system companies which may help in pump rooms for cold and hot spots especially sounds good for determining the effectiveness of trace heating along pipework in winter???

You've certainly given me food for thought!! :)

I have a topdon tc001... Don't know how it ranks against the more upmarket kit but a useful little tool to impress the clients, above is the neutral block of a service head of a flat with flickery lights. Ironically the council had just employed I think a lumberjack to fit a fireproof enclosure around the thing, probably loosening the tails in the process.

I use theses very regularly doing 12 monthly DB inspections, a great bit of kit and easy to use
