Is it me or are van break inns hugely on the rise, this year every electrician i know has been broken into.
on a new van what is the best way to secure your van as best as you can as i think 90% are low hanging fruit with robbers not bothering with well secured van.
Although with that said i know of a gentlemen who has a brand new transporter with security like fort knocks.... grinder on the roof and the van was subsequently written off.
Also insurance anyone can recommend?
and finally anyone been done over themselves as i feel like i am the only one who has been lucky so far as a good friend got all is stuff taken just going into ASDA.

With security I reckon a good audio alarm deters most and was thinking about getting a mini site box to bolt down and put the pricey stuff in. Few years back I had a van stollen in broad day light, apprentley there was a gang operating with a tow truck in the area!

Its a crying shame that we cant have nice things in todays society. Work hard and buy some decent tools and become more efficient and some toe rag robs it. Luckily i have got deadlocks and cctv over my drive with a led flood to deter scum. Ive also got a 700mm length of 5omm 4 core taped together by the side of my seat for any chancer coming my way.

Unfortunately the low life scumbags are using more destructive methods to get in our vans. I have been looking at different options for van security and came across Tool Shield van security. I would personally consider this as it is like a vault the size of your van.
But like Gaz92552 mentioned they can just take the whole van.

One of our vans a few weeks ago, they pinched a few tools but caused a lot a damage to the van in the progress.

When I was at college a lad built a box which he left in the common room, inquisitive students soon investigated and promptly got a electric shock.
He had fitted the box with a battery, a timer and a car ignition coil, each side of the box was opposite polarity, when you tried to pick it up.. zap, timer pulsed every couple of seconds.
Was really funny at the time, but a similar idea would be good for lock up boxes inside vans! Insulate the box from the van chassis, positive to the box negative to the chassis...
