Hi,

Just thought id share my work with you, I did this board change this morning, I was contemplating extending the circuits, but managed to get it all to fit quite well, quite neat considering.

Had to put new bonding in and tails and main earth which was a pain dragging it down through the cavity. I had to pull the main fuse in the end despite having WPD out last week to fit the isolator, I then realized today I couldn't get the earth in without removing the fuse!

Started at 7:45am and finished a 1pm, fully tested, inspected and all paperwork done.

Thanks very much for all your kind comments. I did think about extending a couple of the conductors but decided against it as its probably best not to introduce another joint if possible.

the neutrals, I would have chopped them down a bit, not sure why I didn't as I have lads of those ends, I think I'll put the blue heatshrink over the ends on the one on Friday.

The spares, I thought I best stick a couple in as the customer had seen the board sitting there and I know he would have been asking where all the spare ones went.

And there is the first cardinal sin, letting the customer see the materials...........there's profit in them spares.

So what if the customer sees that you have more breakers on site than you need? I always have a few extras just in case of a faulty one or those little surprises, I take them away with me if I don't use them though and either keep them for the next one or get them credited at the wholesalers.

I believe you have missed the joke about the gender of the inches there ;)

I know what you are saying and agree I wouldn't make a termination like that. But if the manufacturers are going to supply cables premade and connected like that then they can stay like that.

I have a similar model, has loads of symbols and memory for repeats etc, also does heat-shrink tape but have not found any for sale local, may go on tinterweb to source...was playing with it when new at at bbq, printed and stuck a label to the back of mrs peg which said "IF FOUND RETURN TO KITCHEN"....had to hide it since...
