The OP already knows it over 3meters if your going on about section 433 & 434. Further investigation is required but what would you code it based on that alone?
As I have posted links too FI really shouldnt be used unless a last resort (eg where supplies cant be switched off, unable to trace cable etc) seeing as no investigation or EICR has been carried out there no point trying to make it seem worse than it currently is.
No code if there is a fuse before any fixed wire equipment is installed.
What difference is there between this situation and a busbar chamber?
We are looking at a picture, the OP has given a very brief description of whatnhe has seen. How can everyone all pf a sudden claims it a C2 by that?
I am just trying to point out that there are regs that may allow it to comply. No ome is right or wrong at the minute, and until a "proper" EICR or a thorough investigation into what the cable does we wont actually know.
As far as I'm aware from reading this thread nobody has carried out an EICR or applied any coding, merely that if the worst case scenario is correct then a code 2 might be applied if an EICR is carried out!
Read posts #5 and #6, both have said they would give it a C2.
OK guys it was me - I first mentioned the EICR on the thread, so for clarity I should probably have written:
If I found this on an EICR and was unable, under the time allocated to doing the EICR, be unable to locate the "load" on the T&E connected directly to the isolation switch I would give it a C2 and and advise further investigation. :bigcry:
A busbar chamber should have a main switch between it and the incoming supply. A supply connected to the live side of the main switch in an installation not under the control of skilled etc persons is potentially dangerous as an unskilled person could open the main switch and reasonably expect the entire installation to be dead.
Great point here as well........
