Hi all
Had a card through the door yesterday from the Police saying that a house near to us has been burgled. They advised that this is the busy period for all those lovely people to help themselves to our hard earned things.

Just thought I would put a quick post up to remind people to check their own security but also ask what the forum would advise to make our homes more secure. Cant really stop them only slow them down

Be safe & secure

Where my mother lived there was a guy who was in and out of jail, when he was in there were no burglaries, when he was out there were loads. Shortly after she died her house got done over nothing of any money value went I had my guitars there and they wern't touched but stuff with massive sentimental value got taken like my dad's RAF service medal.
A mate of mine who was a cop told me they knew it was him but didn't have enough to lock him up, he also told me they might not look into it too much if he "had an accident" which funnily enough is exactly what happened

what a shame that guy was accident prone..cough

Our 14 month old german shepherd had her first intruder up against the wall a couple of months ago. Some druggie burst in through the front door late at night(I know it should have been locked) After I pulled her off him he was very agreeable and sat quietly by the door crying while we waited for the police to collect him, tho i was tempted to let her tuck in.

She got a nice big plate of fried liver the next day, and he got a night in the cells to think about the dangers of entering peoples homes uninvited.

Hickory pick axe shaft, very powerful air rifle, rounders bat and, oh yes, a south american pygmy sword (theres nothing small about it) all under bed.If more time allows, chainsaw & various hatchets also available!2 kids in house. Game over for intruder

Id love to be in the house when someone broke in ive got a CO2 berreta that would pass for real, id see if i could make the burglar ---- themself before they wake up a few hours later and a few streets over from mine, no need for police lol

Yes La Poste, I have noticed there have been a spate, a veritable string of these cases; I wonder if there has been some high level change in the laws tack on such things?

I'm really pleased about it anyway every house (new builds) should have a box at the door for burgulars with a sign "leave human rights in here as you enter, thank you"

p.s. I live on a road with 27 houses. Only one (next door) didn't have an alarm (or alarm box, dummy or otherwise).

Guess who got burgled 3 times in a row?

They got one fitted in the end.

Funny thing is they have a doberman but it hid apparently when one was caught in the act. useless. First I knew about it was I saw torchlight in my garden to so went out to see whats occurring, it was a police officer and a german shepherd!

I should imagine it's because some high class Toff with connections to the establishment came home one day and confronted an intruder.

That's usually how it works in this country.

I think the reason Part P got introduced was because some Lord's daughter got electrocuted.
