It looks like the earth is going to the sheath of the supply cable making it TNS.

not yet i was planing on one tomorrow which i imagine will tell me what arrangement it is but i thought id ask on here before i go. That cpc from incoming does look messy, is this common? I've done an outbuilding supply to this place and was using it for my elecsa assessment

if its for an assessment i would upgrade and make it look the nuts! last thing you want is grief on that!

how would you go about upgrading this one then? obviously i cant cut the seal

Measuring Ze will not tell you anything.

A reading of say .2 whilst indicating a TNCS supply does not prove it.

Thats a TNS supply ,the earth connection in chock block poor , change that get a henly block and use that ,and label it up with a safety electrical connection do not remove label

Thanks mate that sounds a good plan. Would you replace that cpc from incoming or sleeve it? I didn't really want to break

leave it alone, just sleeve it and terminate into your new MET

just re read your question, does it go into the cut out or onto sheath of incomer

Not too sure will need another look. I think it splits before going into cut out which is why I thought it might be tncs.
