Yes it is, but think the point is that at least that's acceptable because the cable will be fused down to 13amps, to avoid any overload.But using that logic if you fitted a 13a FCU right next to a socket which was on the ring everything fed from the FCU would be a spur off a spur etc.?
If I'm right fused connection unit on the ring F.C. fused spur from the load side unfused spur from the supply side-could be a bit tight with four cables.Can't you see option two is a multiple outlet spur?
The two socket outlets need to be both connected from the fused side of the fcu.
There used to be [and still is I think] a picture in the OSG showing sockets via a FCU beig fed in 1.5mm. I wonder if anyone's ever done that ? In theory fine but I like 2.5 or sometimes 4mm in socket terminals.
