Just heard on radio that a guy has been confronted by some locals after a spate of tool thefts. Whether he was guilty ir not hes now dead...
Im not advocating murder but is it a surprise when the police do absolutely nothing to investigate this van crime epidemic. Surprised there hasnt been more such cases.
Lancashire man dies after being detained by two neighbours | Daily Mail Online - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5059691/Man-dies-detained-two-vigilante-neighbours.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

My little example of this concerns a bad man with guns who Police will not visit or confront because "it would be dangerous". I can't say any more ...
Its a game you just need to play it better, an anonymous letter to your MP explaining your fears a phone call to the anti terrorist hot line letting them know he's selling weapons on the black market, there are ways to turn things around.

I think the exporting bit is a bit daft to be honest. As has been said these scrotes have next of kin, wives, children (unfortunately), who have not committed a crime and need access to them. Bit tricky if they are in India!
The vital part of it is that it is made absolutely clear to potential criminals what the consequences will be, including doing a fixed stretch in India. Under the present system they do not know what the consequences will be so they are prepared to chance it. They have a choice, if they still choose criminality they can hardly complain when their loved ones cant see them. I don't give a flying f### and neither should you, they made that choice fully aware of the consequences.

The victims should now sue him for compensation........
A Nanny state, gone into meltdown, if this type of person ie a Criminal in His or Her county of origin, then far from pandering to the do gooder's, they should be sent back to face whatever punishment their Parent country has or will impose on them, don't leave it to the liberal minority of self appointed holier than thou nut cases, who ever it is if they have a criminal record in their own country, why on earth should the British tax payer pay for their upkeep? send them back to face the wrath of their own countries judiciary and prosecution services, I dread to think how much it costs this country to house and feed the Foreign criminal fraternity currently serving at Her Majestie's Pleasure, send them back from whence they came.

There is overcrowding in the prisons,it needs a solution
We should instantly cut all sentences by at least two thirds

I am a liberal you may say,far from it
Here is my prison rule book

I and many others have often worked a 12 hour day and forsaken free time on weekends as the need arises
1/
All prisoners should have a compulsory 10 hour shift for 6 days of the week
After taking sleep into account, they would have 6 or so hours of free time
2/
This could be spent with a good book,no other forms of entertainment to be permitted

Boredom is to be looked on as a inconvenience only
3/
If there are complaints, the work hours could be increased on request of easing of that boredom
4/
A national 7 day menu will be introduced
Personal food preference not to be considered
5/
Parole to be replaced with a system that rewards good behaviour

Bad behaviour discouraged via a system of increasing the length of the original sentence, good behaviour means no increase

Building boss puts up giant 'Wanted Dead or Alive' poster of tool thief who raided his van

A building boss who put up a giant banner outside his home with a photo of a tool thief and the words ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’ written on it has been warned to take it down by cops - or face arrest.

Sebastian Stephenson, a project manager for building firm Diligent Developments, put the banner up outside his home in Croydon, south London, after £4,500-worth of tools were pinched from his van.

CCTV footage from his home caught the crook on film, and Mr Stephenson paid hundreds of pounds for a banner showing the man pinching his tools, which he has now put up outside his home.

The Wild West-style poster states ‘WANTED! Dead or Alive - Do you know this thief? £1,000 cash reward’.

Mr Stephenson also posted a 2min 24 second CCTV footage on YouTube, which has now had 4,000 hits - and is set to the Pink Panther theme tune.

But after putting up the banner, Mr Stephenson was visited by police and warned that he faced being arrested for inciting public disorder.

Mr Stephenson said the banner was in reaction to being targeted by tool thieves several times over the past few months - and that he decided to get the banner printed as the cops were "doing nothing" to catch the crooks.

He said he handed police the "clear as day" CCTV footage of the burglar - who is believed to have struck at a string of other properties in the area - but that officers closed the investigation without nabbing the culprit.

He said: “When the police said they weren’t going to do anything I had to take matters into my own hands.

“But on Monday a policeman went to my house looking to arrest me for inciting public disorder because of the banner.

“I said I just want information whether the thief be dead or whether he be alive.

“That doesn’t mean I’m telling people to go out and kill him. I’m not inciting violence, it’s entertainment, it’s banter.”

Mr Stephenson said he had £2,000 worth of tools pinched just before 5am on May 23 - which were replacements from ones pinched from his van in February this year - with £4,500-worth of tools pinched in all.

He says the thief uses a master key to break into his van - which means he can break into the van within seconds, as shown in the footage.

He added: “After the incident in May I looked back at the footage from the camera on my house and saw a gentleman using a key to open my van.

“You can tell he knew what he was doing from the way he took the stuff. He didn’t open any of the boxes because he knew what he was taking.

“I’m sure he took the tools in February and had come back for more.”

He added: “I called the cops and explained what happened, that I had caught the guy red-handed and I had a video.

“They said they would send the video to the national database.”

He said that was ‘no good’ as it wouldn’t lead to the thief being nicked - and that the next thing he knew he got a visit by the police warning him to take down the banner.

He said: “I got a call from the police to say the inspector had been around my house.

“They wanted to have a conversation to me about the sign and they weren’t impressed. I was told I could be arrested for a public order offence.

“I was very angry with the police. Everyone knows it is cowboys and Indians stuff. It’s just a bit of banter to get people interested in the sign.

“I’m not inciting violence. I said to the police, do you really think I want a dead body on my driveway?”

He said he was not going to take down the banner, adding: “Why should I? I haven’t done anything wrong.

“I’m going to continue to try to find this guy and, when I do, I’m going to do a citizen’s arrest and take him to the station myself.

“People shouldn’t be in fear of enforcing the law. I shouldn’t have to do it myself but I have no confidence in the police.”

His posting on YouTube has had around 4,000 hits - and his message on the Diligent Developments website states:

“HELP US CATCH THIS THIEF - £1000 REWARD!

“This man has a master key to Ford Transit vans.

“He has struck me twice this year. Each time stealing thousands of pounds of tradesman tools.

“Can you believe, this man targets hard working people in the dead of the morning.

'He has stolen my tools once before this year in Feb 24th 2016. But now he has hit me again for another few grand of tools.

“This man has treated my van like his own personal shopping cart.

“The police…..well……what do you think was done. They have closed the case and uploaded the images to a “national database. What bloody good can that do??

“I asked the Police to send a letter to transit van owners in the area, or do a quick door-to-door in the evenings to let tradesmen in the area know about the capabilities of this thief.

“They said, “yeah, thats a good idea”. But nothing has been done.

“So I have taken matters into my own hands, and with your help we can deliver this thief to justice.

“PLEASE SHARE!!!! To all tradesmen – please don’t buy stolen tools. If you too know how it feels to be robbed for your tools of the trade.

Without knowing all the facts, I don't like to point the finger at anyone. However, there have been a lot of van-thefts in my area and as a lot of you have said, the police don't seem to do a great deal.

I have installed CCTV on my own van to be safe, which records several cameras continuously even when the van is turned off. I'm fully aware that if someone stole it, they could simply search and eventually find the hidden DVR, but it would take them a fair amount of time and if it was recovered by police before then, there's perfect evidence. If not, the insurance company will have my back.
