if you go to screwfix and go in via the electrifix/plumbfix entrance, you can sign up for a trade card as long as you take qualifications to prove your a qualified sparky, its similar to a screwfix membership card exept you get better discounts on electrical products

Electricfix then?

Neon the best terminal driver ever I mainly work on alarm panels and it's just right that and my trusty multimeter sort most faults :) bag full of ck gear in the van hardly gets used

Know what you mean, used to work as an Alarm Engineer & allways used a Neon as a Terminal driver.:smile5:

the abocve are my reccomendations for decent tools, that will last, and do a decent job.

Its isnt worth buying rubbish, and the above is what i have in my toolbox. ive got lots more, but it would take me forever to list!
i sugets doing what others ahve already stated, and that is to buy one or two items a week, and build up your set. that way you will have a decent set of tools.
As for a method of carrying your tools about, im still trying to find the best method, as my bag and box, are full of tools, and there is no organisation to it!

ive jsut noticed that the froum doesnt allow links to certain websites. all but one of the links that are disallowed are to screwfix, so just type the 5 digit number at the end of the link, into the screwfix search bar, and that will bring up the correct item.

good set of pliers snips & drivers rest ucan buy cheap and up grade later and tools u dont use that often youll get away with cheap!
don,t hurt as much if you lose cheap tools! lot of tool snobbery out there!LOL good tools help but they won't automaticlly make u a better tradesman!
trust me ive worked with em" ALL FUR COAT AND NO KNICKERS"

I think, C.K tool is the best hand tool. Nowadays, it's the best selling hand tool for electricians. This is good quality, very cheap and innovative product tool.

You probably won't believe it but they are not, knipex have the Market share on tools with jaws, wera have it on screw drivers, however CK are very good, I don't like them but that's no more than personal preference, I'm a knipex/irazola man myself.

Have to admit unless its a one off tool or onece in a blue moon tool dont buy cheap as said as your spend more over the years on cheap tools than good ones ! Draper, Stanley & Halfords arnt bad tools ! also Wera & NWS are quite good ! Bacho, CK, Irazola are good ! go for the best you can afford even if you have to save some more ! also a good battery driver/drill and mains ! socket set, allen keys, the list goes on ! and dont forget you can buy 2nd hand if your short of cash rather than cheap tools ! but the better tools you buy the better your be as if your onsite and you use cheap tools if they break as cheap screwdrivers etc will you wont be in a good spot if you havent got spares !
Best of luck !

Hi Hayley
Ebay, Gumtree etc seem good but you dont know whats good/bad or stolen etc you may be better going into your local suppliers if you buying a list as you can normally strike a good deal with discount etc !
