....testing after a kitchen fitter is something i definately wont be getting into.....if they want it wireing the get the whole package...or i walk off i dont care.........

I've found a nifty solution to the above problem is by offering my customers a kitchen fitting service!! I do the whole job lot and contract an extremely skilled joiner mate of mine to do the woodwork side of life. That way, I know when I sign the paperwork I know every last inch of the install from top to bottom and it's 100% legit. 9 times in 10 I can offer them an entire package cheaper or at same price as the highstreet kitchen retailers (and make a little margin, too).

Well...its all about a duty of care isn`t it....sparkying etc its like a covenant int it.....like a code 1...you have a duty to make it safe before leaving site...you cant just walk of from it can you........
Agreed. If it's unsafe then I consider it a duty of care to make it so before you can leave. And if the client is looking at the clock, then you have to make a judgement call - which would you rather read the next week: a couple of extra hours on the balance sheet or a newspaper report of a tragedy that you could have prevented?

there is a company near me that does new housing estates, they only test 1 in 10 houses and make up the results..

i know i subbed for them for a while... this is why these tragic events happen by ----ers that cant be bothered even to plug in there socket tester, that would have at least picked the fault on that socket in question..

very sad
