I'll give you a bell when I get my hearing back. Went to a very loud Bernie Tormé gig last night.

ive had these since 2010 and used when playing piccolo etc in bands

Not a bad idea mate, for the first time in my life after a gig my ears were painful this morning.
I still think if it's too loud you're too old though:)

@ ElectroChem... Could you explain to us all about the change in cable colours in pic #1 and #5 on the 3rd phase? I understand that "down under" that "identification of conductors" are not really that important, but over here it really really is! Tell us more EChem, very interested mate.

PS your avatar photo should be along the lines of this:-

Just because it would make me giggle like a school kid every time you do a post

PPS... My new boss that I subby to spent his time as an apprentice in Perth so I'll show him these pics tomorrow mate. As I say, very interested in the way you do things.

The change in colour is because my supply cable was a 5-core flex. Appliance leads here still use the old Brown/Blue/Earth colour scheme and sometimes you find a 3ph flex that just adds red+white for L2/L3.

Normally I would have had an orange circ with Red-White-Blue-Black-Green/Yellow and that's the colour scheme I've used after the first breaker, with some other colours to help me trace the control circuits.

You're right that our regs are not too strict about identification, but there are some hard rules. Earth has to be green or green/yellow, can't use green or yellow for anything else. I'll hunt up my AS3000 and post the clause on identification of conductors. When things really get hairy is with Euro/US equipment coming in with white neutrals, grey phases etc through the panels; gotta be real careful not to blow something expensive up as you start to mix colour schemes.

Sorted it for you Danny  Nice board, better than the last one I did on Thursday in a small cupboard with no room to move. Neatness was not really going to happen on that job lol.

@ Trev, "anti gravity machine". Please dont talk about that crazy scientist from that other thread. Trainees know more than him pmsl.

Thanks for that.

Could have been better this was a right few months ago. Done a few more since.

Was over in your kneck of the woods for a couple of weeks there. Have you never heard o square head screws?

Never heard it being called that effort we just call them splits. Actually I'm not sure why we used it the board was being fed from another old outhouse close to the new garage.

Probably just what the wholesaler had at the time just.

Ah ok cool. The DNO's use concentric cables to supply houses. TN-c-s would be straight concentric line and neutral. TN-s would be split concentric and have the uninsulated earth core aslo. (for single phase)

:)
