I left my phone charger in the house and my batterys nearly flat so I thought I'd try this using bits on the van, works a treat!

As long as I don't burn the hotel down through the night I'll be happy!
Yeah, was gonna say: genius though it is, I wouldn't leave it unattended! There'll be a regulator in there which'll cope with 12V OK, but it's not designed for that input voltage and it may get a bit hot...

Good hack skills, though! :)

Just checked it and it seems pretty cool, it's a 12v led driver so it should be ok... Famous last words!

Ah, sorry, scrub what I said. I'm a muppet, ignore me. Hadn't realised you'd plugged it into a 12V smoke lighter adapter, thought you'd plugged 12V straight into your phone! I thought that was very brave! :)

In case anyone hasn't heard of them the case in the photo has a 4500ma battery in it (my phone only has a 3200ma if I remember correctly)

When you put the case on your phone it empties the case battery first then the phone battery so you can get two times the battery life out of your phone. About £15 on eBay but worth every penny if you've got a smartphone that eats the batteries

Please dont set fir to the Etap hotel (although it needs to be burnt to the ground). I drink in the pub/bar next door.

Next time your in Leeds give me a shout.

Spent the last few days doing the field wiring for a filtration setup. The sparky I'm filling in for is very particular about his cabling, so in keeping up to his standard I got some pics for my brag file.
