Read reply above.

I used to work with Scottish Power and I am only passing on what we were required to install as policy.
the question wasnt about what you used to install.
the op asked if the10mm on his install was ok.
the answer is yes, not no :p

didnt realise scottish power supplied earth rods either

You could be that pedantic but thats for a bare minimum install.

If you want to do the decent thing and install something with a bit of a stretch you install a 16mm.

The OP asked if it was OK I said what we installed not that 10mm wasnt.

Its great being wonderful aint it?

thank you. thats the first time ive been described as wonderful

too many people give personal prefernce answers instead of what theyve been taught and what the regs say.

the right answer would have been 10mm`s fine, but i personally would install 16mm because scottish power are paying for it :p

what you actually said was

From what I remember the minimum expectations when we were installing 25mm tails was a 16mm earth.
seems to me 10mm is no good reading your answer

Expectations from Scottish Power the electricity supplier.

Trying to be pedantic and failing just does you no good.

P.S Scottish Power do supply rods but only on certain jobs

whos being pedantic  10mm is fine.
not sure if anyone else is interested in what you used to install as i am not.
i am just interested in helping a fellow spark with the facts as per bs7671, not my own personal preference which only confuses matters.
if thats being pedantic then i am guilty as charged :p
i also stand corrected on the rod as i have yet to find a dno that will install one as that is the consumers equipment
