Cables come from the loft , He can see were they drop down but he wants to keep damage to the wall to a minumum, He's hoping to locate the exact position they were cut!

get him to rent a fluke cable finder for a day (the small one) it puts a tone down and uses non-contact finder unit to beep out the cable....
Remove all the aerial leads from all the TV's and at the wall outlets.
Remove the Aerial cable at the aerial, and isolate from elsewhere.
IR the core and the braid at 250v wrt earth.
If IR > 22K then connect the Braid to the mains, through a 22K 3W resistor, and trace using a cable finder.
