Anyone use one and can recommend a smallish one? I'm looking to pay up to £100 but read a few reviews and there's a lot of fake ones out there. I watched a youtube strip down of one and the 'ultrasonics' consisted of a vibrating motor!

I've used stainless steel ones (a long time ago!) which were very effective.
I was given a plastic cased one more recently, and it's not as good. I would steer clear of the really cheap ones, as you are aware.
Best would be one made by 'Walker', but even used on eBay they are around ~£200!

Someone got a bargain though: Walker ultrasonic Bath / cleaner Professional Unit | eBay - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/356370841356?

So sorry, this doesn't answer your question 🫣

From what I've read the plastic ones should be avoided. They don't work anywhere near as efficiently as the stainless. I'm not sure why though. Perhaps the plastic attenuates the ultrasonics?
Yup, someone had a real bargain with that one at £45. Looks like it may be time to constantly watch ebay!

Well, I've ordered one. A 3L jobbie. I'll see how it performs once it's arrived and let you all know.

Well, that didn't go well. Just had an email from the 'UK not!' seller telling me the unit is faulty and it was the last one they had so they cancelled the order. Am I being a bit cynical here or perhaps it didn't reach the price they wanted ??

I went for a Creworks 3L jobbie. So far only tried it on some aluminium foil (yup, big holes as it should do) and some old coins. Cleaned them up lovely. It's noisier than I expected but seems to do the job.

They're handy items. I recently used mine with some detergent solution to clean the years of built-up crud of my seatbelt, worked a treat. They are a bit noisy but usually it only take a minute or two to clean things so not really an issue for me.
