un-switch or switch spur

I would like to know when should you use a un-switch spur or a switch spur for what tasks,
I need to wire a pump so would you an un switch spur or switched spur

Just installed an un switched spur for a fan a light in a bathroom. Spur is located in a place that it could be turned off by mistake
