What happens when you go to a job to wire a boiler and there is no way to get a 10mm to the gas meter or water stop tap? If I had to run a new supply instead of using existing, how do I stand?
on an old TT system that is in need of serious work, rcd not working (!!!) and old black wylex 4 way board...

30m conduit run external, a days job...boss wont wear that though...flat roof extension newly decorated and customer wont have damage. concrete floors all ground floor. The owner is selling the house in 2 years time...

As Tel says - there is always a way. It is then just a matter of how much that would cost. If the customer is unable to eat the cost, then you have to walk away. I know someone else with fewer ethics will then do the job, but it is you reputation, your livelihood, and potentially your liberty that is at stake.

You sure it's an RCD, and not an ELCB If the installations that old ?? Either way, that RCD has got to be Replaced, end of story!!!!

is there existing boning to gas and water in 6mm? if so, then that's ok on a TTsystem, but you'll have to upgrade the CU and RCD all circuits.

the firm or customer wont pay for it...no bonding to gas or water. As a temporary solution I ran a 10mm to the boiler and cross bonded supplies there. Not right I know, but the job was a government grant job for the heating...

then your best option is to put the lackm of bonding on the cert, and the fact that the customer refuses to have it remedied. make a couple of copies, oine to keep, one for your company, and then issue a condemnation notice.

Indeed it would be. But that would mean having 2 things to disconnect instead of one. More margin for error. Of course, any diligent spark would...
