Deleted - I have decided not to post links to videos showing bad practice in the open area of the forum, in case it confuses non-electrician visitors.

I quite like the idea, but can see how it could be terminated poorly in many terminals.

There's a reluctance to break with convention in the UK, with things being done a certain way because 'that how it's done'. What's a little reverse polarity between friends?

Sorry, had second thoughts and deleted the post with the link to a video of bad termination and reversed polarity. Maybe the rogues' gallery needs to be in the Arms?

IMO it's good to show the non electricians bad workmanship, if only to expose these rouges masquerading as electricians.
Agree
It is probably more important to show and discuss shoddy work than look at text book work

Totally agree. Let's keep 'em to the Arms......although it was in the 'Dodgy' thread...and that confuses me, sometimes.

Hilariously bad, though. Four inches, doesn't even know what an inch is.

I recall working on a large site was I had just finished my apprenticeship. Labourers foreman, was ‘seeing‘ a young lady across the road from the site. He came to me, and asked if I could install an extra socket in her flat. So one day went across with some materials. When we got there, she said she wanted all flushed in, so I told the foreman he when have to do that and I’ll come back another day. Wait there he said. Ten minutes later he came back with a 9” petrol disc cutter, and proceeded to cut the chases, you couldn’t see for dust and rubbish, and she was screaming at him to stop. Don’t think he saw much of her after that!
