I don't thinks it down to part P - the cash in hand is more down to people avoiding tax.

re the 6mm - what is the Ze? Zs where you want to add the point?

Customers do have a point as the "upgrade" aspect isn't enforced by anyone and for an outside light its hardly life threatening - unless you're planning a lighting array to illuminate Wembley Stadium.

Ze is ok 0.28, but she also asked for a quote for a garage cu and rewire that was when i mentioned the earthing arrangements and she went off on one. So not sure if the other guy is doing light only or the garage as well, bloody people.

It’s the customer that’s paying.

To be honest if you, as an electrician came to my house to fit an outside light and then started to pad the job out with crap that has nothing to do with the bloody light, I’d be showing you the door. (If you’re lucky I’d open it first). Next stop is the local pub to find “Joe the spark”.

Get real, the regulations are a joke. I just wish I lived in the cigar smoke filled rooms of Nirvana the IEE live in. Every teaspoon would have 16mm bonding to it if I had my way!

Sorry may have misled, I only mentioned earthing when assessing what was needed for the extra work for garage, I don't pad nothing out mate.
