From the (very small) photo, it doesn't look like a very long run of green/yellow, so why not say nowt just do it & built the few pennies that it cost into the price for wiring the light??

Whats Part P got to do with this one?

Its starting to get a little to popular these days, first thing everyone blaming is Part P

I know what i'd of done in this situation, right or wrong!:behead:

Before an addition or alteration can be made to an existing installation it must be ascertained that the earthing and bonding arrangements comply with the current version of BS7671 - Thought that was a no brainer

If he's in a scheme then he's a duty inform client. If he's from the pub then he's prob not that bothered..

What I meant was even if there was no Part P the other guy would still be there offering to do it for cash.

I fully understand the paragraph you pasted into the post and agree that if hes part of a scheme it should be done right.

If I was that way out I'd stop paying into part P, insurance, right gear etc and then drop my prices - cash or not if your with a scheme your going to have higher overheads. My original point meant, to do it right ( part p etc ) cost more, making cowboys more appealing to punters.

I dont feel its a part P thing, because cowboys are cowboys , joe down pub aint bothered about part p anyway . he just does job. So IF someone had gone to trouble to do a blink of an eye course and is considered by a scheme to be competent then fair dues. the schemes dont stop cowboys , cowboys will always be regardless of rules and regs . the very reason they are cowboys is because they break rules and good practice.

Unfortunately its the awareness of client and her lack of respect for electricity. Still you still being a competent person have a duty to inform her. End of day its not immediate threat but it is something that could escalate into a life threatening situation. then its serious
