Upgrading main tails???????????

Up until yesterday when upgrading a consumer unit and changing tails from 16mm to 25mm i have been changing the whole lot, from cut out to meter and meter to board, yesterday whilst doing a change with a freind who works for another firm; he said you only need to change the tails coming out of the meter, leave the 16mm in from the cut out, is this right????????????????????

By the way there were no seals on anything when i got there

I have no idea who cut them off and i couldn't get in touch with distributor because the phone was engaged

hi matey, i wouldnt bother changing from cut out to meter, i often cut the seal on the meter to stick new tails in (or use henley bloack)
to be honest i don think id have the balls to change cu t out to meter seems a bit more naughty!!

so imo yeah leave the cut out to the meter as whatever it is, and change from meter, or henley bloack on meter tails.

I think you will find that the tails from meter to cutout belong to the supplier and not occupant.

I change meter to board only. Last comment is correct, tails to meter are property of supplier.
