Thanks chaps for your assistance. I purchased a Fluke T110 in end, and looks very nice & rugged. Cheapest I could get it was ÂŁ50, getting free delivery by buying a spirit level as well..........god knows what to do with that.

I have a kewtech 1700, had it the best part of 4 years, never had to change the batteries in it yet, been dropped, bashed, smashed, even been for a swim in the river yare and still works spot on.

Keep a fluke f117 in my flight case for precise measurements, (I know people bitch about multimeters but it does its job!) non-touch voltage indicator on it is useless tho, proper handy for alarms and stuff too.

I was gonna get one those for the LoZ function and ghost voltages. Ever used that?

I've got a Fluke T130, bought it November 2013, have not even used it yet or turned it on or even registered it yet! One of those foolish impulse buys

Used one of these for the past 30+ years, only ever had to replace it when I lost one very reliable. Only problem the take out 30mA RCD when mesuring to earth which was not so much of a problem a problem years ago.

Great laugh to give it to a sparky who has never used one before because they vibrate.

IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC. - Solenoid Voltage Testers

Are you sure it's an IDEAL voltage tester?? As we were issued solenoid voltage testers over 30 years ago at the company i did my training with. Pretty sure they were manufactured by Square D came with a DC indicator at the top and only ever seen them in black colour. I'm sure i still have mine somewhere in the UK!!
