Wall Chaser

I bought one from SF to cut a 4M trench across a concrete floor, took it slowly worked fine. Except the amount of dust, I had a domestic hoover(other brands available) and part way through, the dust bag burst, massive dust storm. Continued with an old Numatic (Henry style) vacuum, much better results.

I too have purchased the tenner chaser from makro and it does the job. As others have said , hoover is required.

For this bit of kit a tenner is great and even if it only lasts for one job, it's well worth the time you'll save.

Should have bought two or three!:D

Out of all you guys using chasers, is there a particular disc that is better than the rest?
Cheers, Mark.

Bosch and Bosch vacuum as it has better suction/sec than henrys and if chaser plugged into it it operates when chaser is on rather on all time.

Would have got a Hilti but way too much money for occasional use.

I've used the Bosch one quite a bit my old boss had it, really nice and light, great for putting in ega tube or flat conduit capping etc. The only reason I didn't go for it was the fact that it only chases down to 20mm and I usually put in 20mm round conduit so it didn't allow enough depth to get a good skim over the conduit when filling. The Hilti is a lump though lol ebay has some good ex hire ones coming through.

I did think about the limited 20mm depth, but majority of installs will be oval or flat. However if the grinder housing is like the normal pro hand grinder 125mm discs might just fit in.

The Bosch set-up is very good our firm has half a dozen kits. There is one weakness however, the plastic back wheels and aluminium axle on the extractor vac are always coming adrift, we now remove them on each new unit. It does mean you have to lift vac to move it, but that's easier than the alternative, we tried glueing and bolting them on without success.
