I think he must be working at a higher level than me, cause they never taught me that one at school. Must get one in the toolbox
Sorry, being a bit sarky, it could have some use if wired in series to limit current flow if the scissors had a dead short. I'm used to using test meters for testing

Incredible.... That by-pass plug on his jiggery pokery unit gets me, it must have live pins on the loose plug top when not being used if I'm not mistaken! Correct me if I'm wrong .. People!

Well I thought there were some clever people on this forum, but obviously this jiggery pokery board has you flummoxed! It's obvious to me that the jiggery pokery board tests the hedge trimmer circuit with a small amount of current so it doesn't give off a big bang if there's a problem, diverting the vast amount of current to the ballast until it knows the hedge trimmer circuit is sound. It then diverts the correct amount of current to the hedge trimmer. That gents is how a jiggery pokery board works. Simples.

His fun jiggery pokery unit is nothing more exciting than a series limiter, he's just added bits to make it look more interesting. Does the same thing as the lamp limiter i use when restoring radios.

Totally correct Andy, joking aside this bloke is dangerous. He turned a regular cut cable repair into a video in which he demonstrated what a complete Dork, as someone put it, he is. If the commando socket or BS EN 60309, as some call them, is disconnected the ends will be live.
