Excellent.
Beautiful part of the country.
Beautiful country in fact.
I did the drive from Jo'burg to the Cape in a day. About 1600 klicks as I recall.
Nice car, much younger then and straight roads with almost no traffic but I was still bloody knackered at the end. The drive through the Great Karoo was awesome and endless. Yet you'd see the odd person walking around. From where to where?
Just one of those things things/sights that makes a lasting thing that sticks in your mind.
I suppose that I've been lucky, and lumbered, with travelling quite a bit to different places, usually on business.
Another is the Taroko Gorge - Taiwan east-west highway. The road is carved into the side of cliffs. And precariously close to the edge.
This gives a little bit of an impression of the road.
But I think the place that most stuck with me was the Sahara desert.
The immense emptiness. It is hard to comprehend. Or describe. It just got to me.
I'd like to go back - and maybe I will before I hang up my boots.
