I have been using DEWALT for the past six years. However, I have had to replace my impact and combi drills for the past two years, and the combi started falling again. I also broke one hammer drill. Therefore, I am looking for something more reliable. What is your experience with those tools, and which brand would you recommend?
Thanks

Never broken a Bosch blue battery tool, and corded tools have only failed after years of abuse. Gearbox in the case of drills and tool holder for SDS.
Once bought corded drill and SDS from DeWalt. Both were broken beyond repair inside eighteen months.

I have had many years of tough service from dewalt. 10 years is the shortest life, apart from the drill that was stolen

I’ve had a dewalt combi, and SDS since I started self employed in 2017. Have just replaced the sds as the rotary stop function had failed.
Too much chasing out in recent months.

Will still work as a drill, but bought a replacement anyway. .

Also got dewalt mini grinder, multi tool and jigsaw on the same battery

Panasonic was the best I've ever had, but my god the batteries are expensive - when they needed replacement it made more sense to dump the lot for new tools. I had dewalt before that but the early lithium batteries were pants, although I think many brands had that trouble.

Milwaukee these days, mostly good but the chucks are made of cheese. I think most of 'em are much of a muchness, if I had to buy again I'd probably stick with Mil; Panasonic would still tempt me but the Mil range is so big, i've probably got 20+ tools.

Went to a 'tools evening' at a local agricultural merchant a few years ago, where there was a question and answer session on power tools.
We were told that some of the DIY drills had a design life of just four hours. Sounds shocking, but in the hands of a DIYer, that probably translates to a life of several years.

The cheaper Karcher pressure washers have a designed life of 50 hours that was based on research that most are only used for 24 hours per year, it is the pump pistons that are made of a plastic that slowly deteriorates until they melt

Makita not even mentioned once!
I've got all makita and it has never let me down. The only down side is that most other trades have it too, so you have to mark all of yours in some way.
I have just bought the Milwaukee fuel impact driver and drill. Both are ridiculously powerful and just feel really good quality. I shall probably slowly d rift over to Milwaukee each time I need to replace something

I've always used Dewalt. Tough and reliable, decent battery life. I only had to replace my old combi when it fell off the top of a stepladder onto concrete. Still works as a drill but the hammer no longer functions...

My longest surviving power tool is a 9" Metabo angle grinder. Gets used with diamond discs cutting through concrete, including rebar, and for sizing concrete blocks. On its third set of brushes (at least) and still going strong, after about 25 years.

I've been using Dewalt for 20+ years, I think they are reasonably priced, good quality and have a huge choice of tools. I've only had a few drills fail on me during that time. I only buy the professional drills usually purchased online from a reputable tool supplier and not any from local DIY shop.

The old Metabo tools were excellent I remember 25 odd years ago putting new slug seals in the SDS drills and they just kept going.

I have a lot of makita kit both corded and cordless great kit with little or no problems the big down on Makita is the Makpac boxes they are useless shoow them a little bit of cold weather and they destroy themselves so I have a lot of Makita kit in Dewalt T-stak boxes which seem to be more up to the rigours of site work
