Just a quick check in to see what you guys have all been up to lately. Not been online for a while myself.

You been anywhere nice on holiday? Had any new employees? Had any awesome jobs come in? Moved house?

I was made redundant on August 6th. I went to CareersWales and they introduced me to Bryan from ReAct, a fund set up by WAG for people who have been made redundant. They have paid for me to do 3 courses 2 x PLC courses and a hydraulics/pnuematics course. If anyone else is interested they need to set up their courses within 12 months of been made redundant and they will also pay ÂŁ3000 to any employer who takes you on for 12 months.

Myself, I have retired from the rat race of lecturing and took on full time shopping, gardening, surfing, campervanning and wine tasting. Cider making, kayaking, pain au chocolat tasting and socialising.

Thanks for asking!

Everybody should try this.
Thanks, have'nt been in the forum, but still busy with the job. but I am away next few weeks on Holiday.
Thanks for asking.

Have been busy developing the Wi-Fi version of the Intelligent Immersion solar diverter, which we are calling the I3. This performs all the functions of an I2 solar diverter but adds a wireless interface so owners can monitor and plot graphs of several energy flows from a smartphone, tablet or PC. Also from there owners can control the diverting functions and more besides.

Yes - Menorca - great time.

No employees, just myself. Just starting a near complete re-wire (don't ask) separating out up/down ring in all bedrooms first.

No - plan to leave this house, which we built, in a box.

Mostly been carrying out little jobs or EICRs (and VCRs) recently then fixing all the problems found, in particular bodges made by plumbers or kitchen fitters and even the owner:frown:.

Went on a day central heating controls course with Honeywell so I can talk S/Y plan to plumbers now. Not hard at all as it turns out but none of the drawings look like an 'S'. I was the only one who could wire up the test boards without faults (and finished before anyone else) but I don't suppose I could pipe up the system without leaks either.

"the Government says I am fit for work"
What does your consultant cardiologist say?
Not sure why they should take notice of a cardiologist who has a degree in medicine, many years of post qualification experience, continuing professional education and who in a court of law would rightly be considered an expert.

Thanks for the backup, but i suppose its all down to A.T.O.S.and how they asses you for the DWP, I had a Registered Nurse to review my case when i was promised a medical professional (Doctor at least) i do not question her professionalism but her job could have been with maternity, or geriatrics or A&E , and she is basicly saying she knows better than my GP, Heart Surgeons, hematolagist Doctor , and other specialists. I even had a tribunal hearing backed up with all the facts of my Professionals and still lost because they believe what she put down on paper which was full of impropriety's so all i can say is thank you Ian Duncan Smith, and start over again so as i can get qualified.

Cheers

It is exactly down to Atos and the directives they have been given by that callous bas**** Ian Duncan Smith. How can a nurse possibly be more able to comment on your condition than a consultant cardiologist?
Keep fighting, please don't let that smug, self centred, lying, smarmy git win.

up to well apart from being busy with my new role at work i managed to get myself into a situation involving my hobby where i do martial arts and a rouge sword tip managed to penetrate my eye and skull. which has resulted in me being hospitalize for a couple of months. fortunately im fine no damage to brain but close!. and i kept my eyesight too bonus. only downside is boredom but returning to work and fencing soon

What ever you do, keep fighting them. Their remit is to reduce any payments they can, by any means.

The bas****s even tried to over turn a court ruling. That ended badly for them.

If you want talk more about this drop me a PM.

Hi all. Since my last post some time ago, I had taken on a full time job which is keeping me away from home and the site with long hours and travel.

I'm waiting for an interview date for a new job I've applied for. I've been away from testing for about 1 1/2 years and the new job is an inspecting & testing job with a very large but good company.

Any interview tips would be of great help.

Test Probe

Do not send me any thanks or likes about this. It was the members that brought this forward and made it happen. I was just the first voice to be heard.

Looking forward to this section although I'm not in the same league as you guys. Think it will be a great forum.

I won’t, as usual you’re riding on the back of other peoples hard work.
