Don't assume that the cowboys are just undercutting us mate. The unqualified blokes in the pub round here are charging more than I am for the privilege of screwing things up.

Reading this forum makes me think that there is no money and future in domestic work as there are plenty of cowboys to under cut you and do a job for next to nothing.

Not necessarily.

Alot of canny folk avoid cowboys, by, for example, only using well known and recommended, trusted, tradesmen. And I don't mean by using a soul sucking leech of a website like you know who, I mean by word of mouth.

I am rewiring a little house at the moment and being paid correctly for it, there were no quotes involved, I was recommended by the plumber who is completely trusted, hes seen my work and knows who I do work for, and connected the dots.

If you do the job better than anyone and charge fairly, no ne else will even get a look in.
