What is this box in my house

I have a box in my bedroom, it's next to the mains which leads outside, u side there are green grounding wires, basically green wires, and there's a big metal plate. I keep getting shocks in my bedroom

Basically a square box, in the centre there's a round metal plate like , and two green wires, outside there's the mains meter.

The green wires are live ground wires, the metal plate conducts something, is it a rod but it looks too big think like a massive mushroom made of metal.

Think of the description I understand you may want to be precise but just a general thought will do, a wooden box with a mushroom metal plate that goes into the ground with ground green wires ?

In general you could be getting shocks for a number of reasons, including:
-being statically charged and discharging yourself by touching something that is earthed
-touching something that has low resistance that is in contact with something that is live.
-touching something that is directly live.
-a serious supply fault raising earthed things to live potential

And as we've said several times (and you've acknowledged) it needs looking at.

Thanks Tim, still confused what the box is possibly a ground box as it has ground wires.

And yeah at the top of the property there's birds that fly in the vent it's possible that they may have caused a fault too possibly.

You're absolutely spot on with being scared of taking a picture, the electrons would have travelled back through the flash and it could have been a disaster.
