All the top brands are good, Bosch here though. Good after sales services with regards to repairs. Also alot of these brands are being churned out in china, even a Hilti SDS i looked at was made in PRC

Milwaukee products, every single day of the week!!

De Walt has been kicking out high priced unreliable rubbish for a few years now, once a good reliable brand name, not so today!!

My current larger cordless is a Makita 18V, with 2 x 3Ah lithium ion batteries (charges in about 20-25mins!). It's a BLDC motor, reasonable when compared to my old 24V bosch. Agree with Eng on the De Walt comment. Prior to the bosch I had a dewalt and it needed servicing about every 9-10 months....not what I'd come to expect.

Nothing to do with each other!,

Hilti is still family owned in Germany!

Milwaukee is American owned and used to be known as kango

You're right, i was getting Hilti mixed up with Kango, But i think you'll find that it was Milwaukee that bought Kango out. They also bought out a German company, but i'm buggered if i can recall the name.

Bit of history for you,Hilti actually come from Lichtenstein, not Germany,Milwaukee is American and bought up various companies to get product licenses.Kango Electric as was was bought out by AEG Who bought out other power tool makers and then sold out to atlas copco,an American company best known for air tools who later on sold out to milwaukee, although some years ago kango sold a product license for the old 637 to various firms who manufactured them under their own badge, originally the 637 was produced with a grey handle, later turning to green then blue before final production runs ceased with models having a red handle. The Kango 900 series was first produced with a grey handle then blue then red then yellow, with a black body instead of the standard aluminium one, these were the final run before the company was sold overseas, nowadays the new kango bears more resemblance to a hilti machine than a traditional Kango.
