Hi Everyone! New hear and looking for some help regarding a socket on a floodlight. Not sure what type it is, I think its a G24q but not 100%. Does anyone on here have an idea which it is? And assist in what type of bulb to get for it?

Thanks

That looks like a socket for a compact fluorescent lamp.
If you change it to a normal light socket then you may well need to remove the controll gear Fromm the fitting.

Hi James, so would you say a G24q-2 bulb would fit this? I've seen there are 3 different types of G24q's and not sure which would work.

Thanks

As you mention, there are several variants of G24q lamps, with 2 or 4 pins, and some with tabs that fit cut-outs in the socket in a specific place - designed so you can't put the wrong lamp in the lamp holder.

in the past with a non-standard variant, I've taken the old lamp to somewhere like CEF, and checked the new lamp base is identical before buying it.
