Went to install some dado trunking and new lighting in a small outside shed last week, allowed day and a half for work (quote) and did it in one day. Customer asked if any discount for doing in one day and said would knock ÂŁ80 off. I was happy and so was he. Later that night he text me saying panel heater isn't working! Now apart from unplugging it from existing socket and plugging into new dado not touched it at all! Spoke to him today and says it's the rocker switch on the heater that isn't working and 'Its strange how it stopped working after I'd been' he went on to say it would be ÂŁ80 for a new heater and he'd meet me half way on a new one! I said I hadn't had anything to do with it so reluctant to pay anything more! Going to look at it tomoz, any opinions on this? Thanks

Thanks for the replies, I gave him a discount as I've just set up and want to try get a good rep for being fair, seems you can't make everyone happy. I did say about 'what if it had taken 3 days, would you have paid more?!' And he just swerved it!

Lol, I nearly said something that would have got me banned. Is he retarded? Tell him to get knotted, I wouldn't even go to look at it if it's the switch that's broken. Has he paid you already or is he holding back money?

He's paid me already, so I don't have to go back and to be honest could do without it but just trying to be fair about it really. Like I said just trying to keep a good rep but guess you can't keep everyone happy!

yeah...

and i`v got a pretty good idea as well what group this nob comes from...

caus i have to put up with `em everyday....

and i can assure you now if i had my way.....

if you wanna be the nice guy then bypass the rocker switch on the heater, crimp it or something, use switch on a socket.

that would be digging a much deeper whole for oneself by so much as touching or opening any electrical apliances in the property as the homeowner now has a perfect target for blame when it all goes pete tong.

just looking further down the posts i've noticed the OP has been paid after already giving a generous discount , so i'd be be doing sweet F.A. with anyones heater.

anyway the customer has shown his hand and is just looking to pull a fast one so avoid any further visits to this douche.

I've said this before on this matter...the OP has to take it on the chin...he gave the customer an unintended inch, and guess what he took? As for which "group" the customer belongs to,that is neither important or relevant. A chancer comes in every shape and creed,i've met them all...
