advice on best way to solve tripping

i got a radial 16amp suppling a kitchen ( small ) ge series e 16amp mcb

got a problem with tripping when washer dryer is on then kettle is put on

i think overloading radial ( looking at kitchen there is only the washer & dryer on a socket and i think off hand 2 more double skts ) cooker on its own mcb

what would be best to solve this tripping would i swop mcb to a 20 amp or do i change to a c type 16 amp or is it better to make the radial into a ring ( latter maybe a problem as kitchen is tiled & finished )

cheers jon

Stick the current clamp on and see what it is drawing. dont overlook the chance of a dodgy MCB, but test the circuit properly before you start throwing parts at it. I would be surprised if kettle and washing machine would trip a b type 16a MCB under normal circumstances. The breaker should be able to handle about 5 times its rating for a good while before tripping in overload, certainly long enough for the kettle to boil.

not yet it was one of those questions asked when i was leaving site after 8 hours doing the lights changing every sodding downlight in house for fire proof versions
i looked at board & sasw it was 0n a 16 amp supply , so guessed it was a radial suplying kitchen i told them to get a 20 amp mcb sorted and ring me ( as customer was adament to buy his own gear )

this was friday no call as of yet but they will as i need to go and test system as i worked in kitchen & bathroom i couldnt test the same day as it was late & the joiner wanted to finish loft boarding..
