Whats going on at Screwflux ?

Guys as the title says I am pricing to repair some 12v spotlights so a tranny was £5 if you bought 5 now it £8.40 for the same on 50 watt aluminium reflectors were £6.64 now they ar £11 did I miss something here ?

Do mk have a plastic type bulb holder in the bc fittings or is it metal? I normally use Crabtree stuff but was disappointed to find the plastic holder in there fittings

Do you find the plastic bulb holder ok? Only reason I've stayed away from them is I've replaced a lot made by other brands where the bulbs fell out

The current crabtree sockets would rate 1 of 10 for me
The one I have given given is only because they once were top notch,they are complete and utter junk in my opinion
They have to be the worst product ever to have been made by Crabtree

No B&Q have always owned Screwflux the thing is i do electrical repairs for rentals so I buy transformers and lamps a lot but this is a first lamd have jumped 70% and the transformers by 35% so to me this is no fluctuation ie 10% either way on a bank holiday mmmmmmmmm

Screwfix often have promotions (I use them a lot, they are just down the road), but before reducing the price by 33% or 50%, perhaps they have to first raise them by the opposite amount, for the required number of days? At least I see a lot of that going on at my local supermarket.

got a mk 10 way dual rcd board for 49quid in the electrifix. not bad...

Yeah, thats because they're utter rubbish mate. Not the standard good quality MK, believe me!

Used to use Crabtree too, but the terminal screws on the sockets became cheap they look to chunky.

Can't fault the Click Mode sockets and switches. Nice smooth profile, similar to MK. Plus all the grid stuff is great for when doing kitchens

Customer doesnt care what they look like as long as they can get their 3 pins in, that puts LAP out of the equation then.

Just to add that they have stopped selling the budget Manrose centrifugal fan that I use a lot for rental repairs they are saying its discontinued but Manrose dont not a happy chappy as this was a good budget fan Also tried TLC but they want £36 +vat & delivery O well back to searching

Been buying a lot of the Lightwave RF stuff through electrafix as its the only other supplier thats way cheaper than their own trade price, otherwise its TLC or discount electrical online.
