We went to a job the other day where a customer was complaining about recieving shocks from her taps. This is what we found:

To top it off, she explained that she had that CU put in only a couple of years ago by a man called John Smith! I couldn't help but laugh!

What's missing here guys? :D

Well i would have mounted everything vertically for a start :D
Assuming the earth wire to the right is for the main gas bond.... That's a TT with the earth wire to the electrode out of shot, right?

I think it's the circuit chart! :D

Did you try a Zs? Were you getting much of an earth from the gas and water?

Can't see from the pic -are they rcbos? or is there no rcd at all and so effectively no ADS

Did she get any certs or is that a silly question ?
Did you sort the shocks out?

Yeah, we sorted the shocks out, we turned it all off haha. Na, we stuck a main earth in and ran some tests only to find severe IR problems and earth faults with each circuit. after a little looking around we basicly told her that to turn the electricity back on would put her and her house in severe danger. shes not short of a few quid so she just asked us to replace it all!

bang on! we got a cushdie little rewire out of it so we're happy, however, its not yet finished and we're taking our time coz she's gone to stay with relatives for two weeks so no certs issued lol
