We are busy but had our first epic fail this week, when one installation failed the EPC after some bright spark had already put the scaffolding up.

Amazingly they went ahead at 9p FITS!

Hold off registering the system with the FIT provider, you may be able to upgrade the property, do the minimum to make it band D, add the PV system on too, quite often this will be enough to reach band D, ask the DEA what upgrades will add enough points, even if the customer has to spend some cash, they will recoup this at 21p index linked for 25yrs.

Yeah we've been through all this process, it's not going to happen they would need external wall insulation, which they will not consider quite rightly as it will change the look of property, other than that there is not enough they can do to upgrade, surprising as they have Double Glazing, LED, and loft insulation, but high energy use and a large house.. they are just motivated by the saving on electricity and not concerned by the FITS. I suspect this will be is our last excursion into the domestic market, our area is swamped with people offering it really cheap, working of ladders without cutting any tiles. We waste all our time quoting and end up winning one in 10, cause it seems the majority of people are making the decision on price alone. And unfortunately the discerning customers are not being found cause we waste all are time on people who want the cheapest! So it comes to a decision offer cheap products we can't justify or focus solely on commercial.

Out of curiosity, what band EPC did it obtain?

44 i believe, but not 100% (it's not my project - I would never have organised scaffolding before assessment was received... ;o).....)

It's a bit out of our usual area, so external EPC, but we've had the EPC checked by our usual guy and he said it all checks out.

I am pleased to hear some folks are getting more enquiries hopefully this is a good sign for us all.

Still no calls up here in Scotland we have done two systems since 1st April. I was thinking in looking into google adwords and fliers through the post with royal mail.

Has anyone tried this before? Have you had much response?

If you dont mind me asking how much do you spend a month and what price per click do you find works.

I presume you are getting work from it.

I want to get an idea if I am able to afford it or not, and I havent a clue where to start

I'm forever tinkering with it, changing keywords, changing ad's so very difficult to quantify ROI on it but anywhere between ÂŁ750-ÂŁ1000 a month

Get help if you can it's an absolute minefield
