Actually, the humped line crossing the dotted line to the neon , could be humped not to cross the dotted line, but as part of the IEC symbol for a normally open temperature actuated switch.
The rectangle with the diagonal line could be perhaps the symbol for a thermister or variable resistor?
I have seen it used as a symbol for a fuse before now.
It could just be a symbol for an FCU with neon.

[ElectriciansForums.net] Whats this?

These are the only symbols on the drawing, top to bottom, MCB, RCD, Relay etc. DNO MCB enclosure.

Are these familiar or are they only Spanish symbols?

Sorry I didn't get back sooner but I went looking for IEC symbols on Google Images and got sent to a scam site that was warning about lots of viruses I had. I.T removed my hard drive and have scanned it. All clear.
Anyhow the pic in #12, Its hard to make out but the symbol may be a Varistor for protection. Its a pity they dont show the symbol in the symbol table.

Sounds like you have gone to a lot of effort over this Spoon and I really appreciate it, I've spent some days searching for symbols and some of those sites do look a bit iffy.

Don't know much about Veristors I'm afraid, and I don't understand what one may be doing in this scenario, which is only a CU for a good size house, do you think 'protection' with respect to earthing protection?

I am going to jump in here!, where abouts does the drawing say it is located? it may be some form of motor control for say a pump for a swimming pool?

Hi CJD, thanks for joining in, the unit is located in the panel, it is supplied by a 40A 4 pole breaker.
The only outgoing shown on the drawings is an earthing conductor going to the Met.
I've posted a line drawing of it in post 12

There is a separate supply for the pool

maybe it's a bull botherer's plan of attack. the sqiggly pointy bit is his sword and the circle with the cross in it is btween the bull's eyes for his aiming point.

Some sort of protective device? with indication? did someone mention RCD? most circuit diagrams give you an indication of what equipment is attached etc how do you know what you are wiring.
Sorry more questions than answers!!
