hi all just wondering what vans you all have, im in the market for another vehicle at the moment i have a vw caddy maxi life but aint working out for me with the windows cant stack my tools above them! whats good and whats worth avoiding?

Just got a new transit long wheel base, lots of flashing dash lights, crusie control, heated front screen.
its always fully loaded with bits & bobs,MPG 29,6 WELL IMPRESSED

Merc Vito Dualiner , 5 seats back 3 can be taken out to give you just a big space , but didnt go for the glass side and back windows i felt it reduced the security

Iveco 29L11, short wheelbase and low roof, but that's in Iveco terms. It's racked out down both sides and I can get 8' x 4' sheets in the back, or 3m lengths of conduit/trunking/capping on the diagonal along with anything else I need. Roof rack for the ladders and a tow bar forplant trailers or whatever. It ticks all the boxes for me, most manufacturers designed vans as scaled up cars. Iveco went the other way and scaled down trucks.

It doesn't rot like Mercs or Transits, the gearbox isn't made of chocolate like Fiat/Citroen.

After having old vw and new ones I think the quality has gone like most cars and vans but I just think they are over priced now, if I shift my wagon iv seen a couple of vauxhall combos for sale low mileage with racked out backs as they are ex British gas

If you're looking at the Combo type of van I've had an ex-BG '06 Berlingo for a year now and cannot fault it. Also came with £1200 of drawers and bluetooth for the phone.

BMW 320 D M sport Touring.

But i just drive around occasionally with my tools, more often leave the tools on site, where the materials are delivered.

If I was making the transition to going it alone.. dunno. Guess thats why I'm reading this thread.
