Discuss where has everyone gone in the Electricians Chat - Off Topic Chat area at ElectriciansForums.net

We're recording record stats this month, and last month was pretty high too!

919 users logging into the forum in the last 24 hours is above average too. :)

Unfortunately 3 or 4 members who stick together to slate new members is the problem, one or 2 are big headed without doubt hiding behind the computer screen, I suggested running an earth wire with a submain supply recently and was hanged from the neck due to an opinion which wasn't to one members liking, I was accused of having no experience and not knowing anything about the trade due to that post, in fact mocked and told "we don't have to answer to your sort" I have also seen at least 3 other posts since where new members have been mocked due to similar circumstances, also now some established members are accusing the staff of reading their private messages as well just because they have added a rival forum to the filter and created a link so when it is mentioned the name is not shown, the whole site needs a shake up IMO, another problem is the fact you need 3000 posts to join the GANG here, I thought the forum was about helping others who are sparks with problems etc, unfortunately you need over 3000 posts and a dick the size of europe to be treated with any respect here, god knows how the mods and admins cope with running this site.

i joined the "other" forum during my last ban on here to have a nosey round.
made a few posts , got bored , moved on
seemed less fun.
they do have there some good sections tho like a part p area and a members pets section which would go down well here considering all the dog owner members.
much better ideas than the ridiculous 3000 club concept that this site admin came up with.
a section just for 20 odd old duffers , sounds a right laff.
;-)

Im mown under .... good but little playtime on here as a consequence, on the industrial side things seemed to have really picked up as i work for a few landlords and their commercial and industrial units seem to be getting new clients after been empty over a yr or 2.
So up until xmas its looking good, fingers crossed :)

My work is also slow right now! considering using a dreaded agency. Some new forum sections would be nice to browse and get the numbers up again

for what my opinion is worth, the majority have made me, as a complete outsider, very welcome. I have received some lovely private messages.

I do hope this forum continues for those many sparks who see it as a valuable source of information and support in difficult times for many tradesmen xx

I hope you dont pin me in the afore mentioned 'Gang' as i tried to help and had to make my point several times about the importance of ensuring you have the SWA earthed regardless of the situe you found yourself in, and on that note just wondered how things went? Did you get it sorted?

Yeh… about 3 quid for a new switch… But I think there’s too many wires there for you to attempt to change it yourself
