Where to connect power cord to induction single phase motor 240v

Oh ok, there's brown, blue & yellow/green

It runs without the earth wire connected
what do you think?

the tray that's screwed on to hold the capacitors, i suppose i could connect the earth wire on one of those screws if need be?

It definitely needs an earth do not use it without one. Is there not a screw in the corner of the terminal box.
