Hi All
PNB system, I,v been told by the supply company" its not a PME system," I have had to sink three extra rods to the seperate buildings on this farm to get good disconnection times does that make it TT ? I mean can you turn a PNB system into a TT at all, is it not a TT to start with as the company Earth is within the proximity of the pole mounted transformer, DNO are being very vauge about this

If there is no appreciable network between the pt and the service head it can not be pme, if its pnb there will be an earth electrode installed by the dno at the service head, any supply can be made tt simply by not making an earth connection to the dno service, install an installation electrode and rcd`s and thats it , the pt will be neutral referenced to earth at the pole

I would not entertain pme or pnb even if available for farm buildings especially if the buildings are housing livestock

Hi Guys and thanks, some info I did not include there is no suppliers earth at all this is because the supply goes to a all metal barn, the customer is required to provide his own earth electrode, so it's more or less sorted now. I will have to reference this in the BRB I seem to remember something along the lines of livestock and areas of shock risk with TT systems in agri property, anyone?

Why would the RCD fail … yes it can happen but then it may not. Without it you have no protection on the TT System
