I've been looking at a route to run mini trunking (16x25) from CU to a cupboard and from there on to another room.

Got most of the route planned in terms of getting from the room to the cupboard and from the cupboard to hall ceiling.

Now I'm looking at options to get from the ceiling down to the CU.

Is there any issue with running trunking down the pink route shown below?

Or would the green be a better option to go with, albeit less tidy looking as it would have to go over the doorframe.

so mining

bet you have a nice power bill

Have you looked at profitability of crypto currency mining?

There’s no competing with the cheap power abroad and it’s taken over by ASIC machines, good luck getting anything with a GPU. And good luck cooking a decent set up.

Did a bit of that back years ago when you could still do it on GPU, sold too early and kick myself but I know that’s not a reality to do any more.

This a kin wind up, isn't it' got to be.

I know it looks terribly unfinished but it’s the easiest way for me to get high speed networking throughout all rooms that I can remove effortlessly upon exiting the property.

It’s basically one step up from just leaving the cables on the floor.

Done much nicer installs in the past but I just don’t see the point when I’m gonna have to rip it out and make it all good in 2-3 years tops.

so come on spill the beans if its not mining

video rendering using the gpu or folding ?

Mostly attempting to brute force password hashes.

White hat only, just interested in security.

Might look to do some video encoding in the future but I’d mostly use my custom build desktop running OS X for that, still if the 2x RX 580s fire up at full power then the machine is pulling nearly 1kW at the wall so it’s no light weight machine.

You watch I'll turn on BBC News Channel tomorrow to see him being arrested for hacking into a government computer network.
The spooks are monitoring the good systems night and day and the really saucy stuff is on networks with no external link so not hackable unless at the machine which often is a terminal comprising screen, keyboard and mouse the actual computer is a virtual job on the server.
Even the white hats fear the long arm of us justice.. forget uk jails in america hacking gets you decades not years!! So be careful what you crack as if its on a us server the yanks will be coming

I'm surprised the landlord is OK with you adding the extra circuit, cables, sockets etc. to be honest. I am a landlord (wait for a certain person to reply now :) ) and I wouldn't entertain it - it would be no use for anyone else who rented the property.

Porno vids or fake DVD's:D:)

Lol, don't think you need much power to run a DVD burner or ten :)

Not looking to crack anything that would ever cause me legal issue.

Not stupid enough to have posted such information in the public domain with my name and pic on the post if it could ever cause me issue either :p

This is why, almost certainly, it will have to be removed. It's only particularly useful for me. Also why I'm not looking to do a permanent install.

If there had been at least a separate ring circuit for the kitchen, I would not be looking to push this, so landlord could either install additional circuits that would support any tenant (at LLs cost) or allow current tenant to safely modify the installation to suit their needs (at tenants cost).

Either way, I have to request this so that I'm not in breach of the tenancy agreement with regards to not overloading the electrics system installed.

It's then either a yes, you can go ahead with this but at your cost both now and upon removal, or okay we'll look to move.

Given that I've agreed to a 3-year lease, it's not like we're going to be looking to move any time soon so in that regard it seems worthwhile to me to have it done, and I can't imagine it makes that much difference for the landlord.

Offered to pay increased deposit on the basis that if it's not made good upon exit they can deduct this, which is really the only negative I can think of considering its LLs electricians coming in so they'd be the ones doing any works anyway and he obviously entrusts them to do this.

Yes they will be monitoring you well and truly now mate, wait for the knock on the door early hours, or a mysterious phone call when you least expect it, I know.
