Buying 13a double sockets for the new house and I'm met with the choice of normal or double pole...

Which and why?!

Just about all sockets are double pole anyway now, not including the 99p supplied broken editions from B&Q, screwfix etc

go for a good brand crabtree mk or the like a cheap socket may cost you more in the long run if you need to replace it

It really doesn't matter in real terms.....SP is fine for functional switching. If you have the choice, defo go DP though.
